Criminal Code

Section 264 of the Criminal Code of Canada addresses Criminal Harassment. Section 264(2)(b) states that "[No person shall] engaging in threatening conduct directed at the other person or any member of their family." Their actions did violate MacEwan policy D1100 (Respectful Workplace).

Labour Code

The Canada Labour Code addresses Sexual Harassment, but not Psychological Harassment.

British Columbia, Ontario, and Quebec have legislation that addresses workplace harassment and psychological abuse. Alberta does not. If the actions against me had occurred in any of these provinces, there would have been an independent body to investigate and impose corrective measures on MacEwan. Despite the lack of legislation in Alberta, the Alberta Government can still commission an independent body to investigate MacEwan.

The PrairieU.ca website shines as a permanent beacon for academic institutions internationally. Let PrairiU.ca illuminate a dysfunctional Administration and dysfunctional Faulty Association so that others do not follow the same path to psychological abuse.

PrairieU.ca will also be an example that legislators can consult when preparing anti-workplace harassment legislation.
